The mid 80's to the early 90's......METAL WAS KING!
Iron Maiden and Judas Priest used to (and still do!) put on kickass shows! Along with AC/DC,Motley Crue,Pantera and a bunch of others!
But my favorite was the Monsters of Rock show back in '88.I was only 18 (and drunk as hell!) when it came through Washington DC,but I remember well! Well....maybe not so well....kinda foggy. But it KICKED MAJOR *SS!
It opened up with Kingdom Come (they didn't last long) and Dokken (didn't really like'em,but live music is always good!).
Then the REAL fun started......Metallica took the stage, and blew the previous acts away! That was before they sold out,and their music was still solid! After them came The Scorpions.I've always liked them, but their live show was way better than their studio tracks! Then......>drumroll.....<......
Van Halen took the stage. They put on a helluva show, but it was with Sammy Hagar.Don't get me wrong! I think Sammy fits well with Van Halen, but I really would've loved to have seen them with Diamond David Lee Roth!
Most people my age (around here anyways) listen to the stuff they grew up with and nothing else. Not me.I love all kinds of music......new,old,rock,rap...almost ALL of it! But 80's and 90's Metal and Rock will ALWAYS be my favorite!

30's all the way through 90's were incredibly good. The 30's/40's/50's for their both tender and lively jazz, 60's/70's/80's for their interesting way of being creative and lively, and the 90's for everything! I hate the banal crap repeating itself now!
