Are you Belle Kiriakis from Days of Our Lives??? She is in the same situation. She loves Shawn Brady, but when he was kidnapped last summer, she just thought he was dumping her. She got close to his friend, Philip and got engaged. Shawn escaped finally, but though some misunderstandings, the wedding between Belle and Philip still happened. Shawn realized too late he still loved Belle, so he drove his motorcycle through the church window to try to stop the wedding. Too late. Then Belle becomes pregnant. Now Shawn will never get her back because they are a family. So Shawn is moving on. He got close to Belle's friend Mimi. They got engaged and married. Uh-oh, we find out that Belle actually had Shawn's baby. The reason they didn't suspect is because they never knew they EVER had sex. They were in an accident, had to go to a deserted barn for the night and were delerious. They were found the next morning, naked and clinging to each other, but were still out of it. No one ever told them. What a mess. They have decided to be friends, but they still really love each other so it's not working out that well. There are a lot more things going on, but if they work it out, I'll let you know what to do.

Skip the "friends" facade. It's only going to cause you both a lot of pain. It's okay to take some time and put some space between you and your crush. If things are really unmendable, you might want to concentrate on the stuff that really annoys you about them. Get busy, meet other people, work out more - avoid situations where you would catch yourself daydreaming about him.

Not possible to go back to a friendship if you were lovers. It is simply too complicated.
People think that trying to remain friends after a breakup is going to make the separation hurt less. It just prolongs the pain.

Distance and time can temper the love if you let it...don't be in contact for a while, that tends to help...it's really difficult to get over someone when you're hearing from them or seeing them all the time.
