Sam - My advice is to continue the masters. Your masters program will prove your research and writing skills and demonstrate the practical application of the accounting knowledge you have gained via the publication of your thesis. I know the 60K looks good now, but, after finishing your masters, your earning power could increase substantially. To corroborate this advice, contact accounting professionals near you. Email is the easiest way. However, always remember, the decision is yours. The most valuable commodity you own is your time. That is why they pay you for it. You get to decide what it is worth to you.

Yikes this is tough. Mind you, im a college sophomore, so my answer may not be worth a whole lot but what the heck I will give my two cents. Personally, I know UT Austin has a damn good accounting program and that it's a tough school to get into for that. While the prospect of make $60K/yr at Sony does sound enticing I would go with continuing your education at UT Austin. Having a Master's Degree in hand will open up even more job opportunities. Perhaps if you pursued a CPA you would get a chance to work for some of the big accounting firms (PriceWaterHouse Coopers, Deloitte & Touche, Ernst & Young, etc) and those jobs I believe would pay you more than your $60k at Sony. Plus if you went to Sony your educational background would be limited (and thus perhaps your payscale may not go up too high?) even if you worked for a while at the company. In short, stay at Austin. Ostensibly you're going on a pretty good scholarship in the first place. So its not costing you much (other than your time and the POTENTIAL $60k at Sony).

The real question should be "What can I expect to earn yearly with a Master's in Accounting?". If there is not a lot of difference look at the difference in experience and how that affects wages also. What will the difference be in type of jobs offered also between the two degrees.
I'm not sure how being terminated would affect you and your resume as you didn't list why you were terminated. Did you go to work naked, steal, or did the company shut down?

Can you take night classes and do both? I would opt for that if possible. You might also talk to Sony. I know many companies offer financial assistance sometimes paying all of the costs for their employees to pursue masters or other post grad type of work. My mom's company will pay for her to get her MS in biology. Do you think there will be more job opportunities if you obtain a masters? I don't know what the job market is like in your area or for you particular area of interest/education but that is also something to consider.

what matters is your employability...think long term. if your masters will achieve that then i say dont take the job.
no point working somewhere where you will not do spectacularly and go far...
