Honestly, it's not getting destroyed. It'll still be there. It's never going to effect you in ANY way whether it's a planet or not, or whether it's even there or not. When was the last time you even thought of the stupid thing until it made national headlines. I've seen numerous posts about "saving" Pluto. Get off the bandwagon of morons and attempting to "save" useless objects billions of miles away. And worry about something that might make a difference on Earth where it matters. (like PETA- People Eat Tiny Animals)

Now that Pluto is not a planet after all I think the people that live there can apply for a 2nd class planet aid. The funding will be collected from a nex tax on all 1st class planet in an attempt to bring Pluto back to a 1st class planet standing.

You have to cut the media and scientists some slack.

Millions of people were told by their schools what now turns out to be the wrong information. Now, the media and science has to come out and explain that so many of us were taught something that was incorrect.

The next time you're tempted to just accept what any educators or "experts" say, remember Pluto (the non-planet, not the Disney character)

Pluto hater!

Some of us care about a lot of things. Pluto has been a planet all my life, and it's a big deal in astronomy (which I love) to go and change the number of planets in our solar system.

Caring about a wide range of things, not just stuff that's right under your nose, can enrich your life. Pluto is not a 'useless' object any more than you are...and Pluto's a LOT bigger than you!

Also consider the story of Pluto's discovery in 1930. An astronomer found it by comparing sets of plates, which was very tedious and took a lot of time and dedication. This story has no doubt inspired many young people to pursue careers in science.

You are a planet-ist (i.e., racist, but concerning planets). We should all be accepting of the diversity of planets, and not judge a rock by its astrogeological cover. [Uh, I'm joking.]

But, no, I don't care.

The radio two-minute news put in a little quote from some lady that was totally hilarious. She said something like, in all seriousness: "This changing of the status of Pluto will have deep repercussions on so many lives, and the astronomical society seems to not even have considered these effects...on people's horoscopes."

Amen man. I don't give a **** about pluto. Pluto naver did anything for me in my life, and it still exists in space. I don't see why people care so much. Although, now grammer schools everywhere will have to think of a new acronym to teach kids the planets. Oh well...

It's part of being educated and curious about the universe we live in. If you lack curiosity, you are more than half dead. Many mathematical calculations are based on our knowledge of the solar system and even beyond that.
