I wouldn't necessarily see that as punishment, you're keeping them in shape. People don't learn from verbal punishment, trust me I know that first hand. My parents used to ground me for a month, I'd go out and do the same thing, but once they would make me do something I didn't want to do, I cleaned my act up real quick. It really depends on how long these sprints are, and the age of the kids. If doing sprints is a negative situation for their kids, I think they'll start being a little more respectful. Kids who are never punished, will never make it in the real world. Thumbs up! (By the way, I am a 17 year old girl, I'm not some kind of mother, but Psychologists have proven time and time again, the only way to reverse an unwanted behavior is to pair it with a negative consequence.)

Wind Sprint Drill. Run in a straight line for about 50 to 60 yards as fast as you can and walk back to your starting point slowly. Do 2 to 3 of these wind sprints at a time, and a set of about 5 to 6, then build up to doing more

it's just an old term that has been used in football for years. all it really means is sprint...but when you sprint really fast don't you feel as though you are cutting through the wind...hence wind sprint

A wind sprint is a series of short runs that eventually suck the wind right out of most people. The coach blows his whistle until he runs out of wind. Its a good way to get kids' attention when they are goofing off in practice. They get too tired to mess around and you can teach.

basically you run as fast as you can in one direction. stop. then run back in the other direction as fast as you can again. keep doing this until your coach says stop. by the end of it you're gasping for air and praying for a nice strong wind to cool your sweaty half dead a*ss
