No, they are all pretty much the same.

The search program looks for pages (or questions) that have your key words on them. On the Internet the search function uses a program called a spider to index the pages on the Internet and then stores that data on the search companies server. When you start a search then the search program's algorithm looks for the keywords supplied by the spider and displays the resulting links.

Yahoo uses a simpler spider to index its question and answers, since they are text only and only on Yahoo servers. A spider may not even be required, Yahoo could automatically index the questions and answers as they come in. Regardless of how the index is set up, the actual algorithm to search the indexed questions and answers is the same as the one used by Yahoo Search to locate a page on the Internet.

even if there is a better search algorithm than the yahoo uses, then u will have the a big problem
u must have direct access to the resources " the questions and answers in this case" and yahoo don't give u such access
note to the 1 above in the 1st: there is a big difference between searching for the information in the database " the answers" and in collecting it with spiders as u say
u search in what u have, but u use spiders to get or locate what u don't have
