I have a Florida License. How do I get it upgraded to a motorcycle also license. I remember in New York I had to get a motorcycle permit, then take a state run riding test, and then my car license was ammended.

I think that "rider's edge" might work. I have no bike yet. I had a Suzuki 450E and then a Suzuki 1100E. But that was many years ago - Time to get back into it!!!!!

Easy. You can take a safety course and when you complete it you will get a certificate. Take it to the DL place and you will get the endorsement. Or, you can get the book, read it, go back and get a permit. Ride for a while then go back and take the test. If you take a course, they supply the bike. It is costly, but well worth it. If you get back in the saddle and find you are not comfortable then you haven't spent a bunch of money on a bike.
Good Luck! The test isn't really that hard, I passed it ont he first try, after riding with a permit for a couple weeks.

The Florida DMV no longer operates rider courses, they will direct you to your local Harley-Davidson dealer where you can sign up for the "Rider's Edge" program. Generally a 4 or 5 day course, they supply the helmet and bike (one cylinder Buell Blast). Call your local Harley Dealer for prices and schedule (in most areas there is a waiting list)

After you complete the course take your completion papers to the DMV to get your license

Hey, welcome to FL. The DMV website has lots of info about how to get your m/c endorsement added to your license. You can get a m/c learner's permit by passing the written test, or you can get the full endorsement by passing written and driving test. If you go through one of the MSF courses, you can actually get a waiver to take to the DMV. With that waiver, you pay 10 bucks, get your pic taken and you're good to go... of course, you have to pay for the MSF course (couple of hundred dollars or so). I think it's well worth it to ride safely and to save hassle at DMV. Good luck!
