I have friends, not alot, but enough for me to keep up with, but I have met people and guys that have like 30 friends that they don't see all at once or everyday, but periodically they do...... Is this normal, and I should have as many, or does it not really matter? What is the bennifit of having sooooooooo many freinds?

Quality over quantity for me...although I don't think you can have too many friends, I always tend to have a few very close friends, versus a lot of casual friends and acquaintances...

I have had friends that had jobs that caused them to interact with a lot of people, and thus they'd know (what seemed like) half the city...couldn't go anywhere without running into someone they knew...friends, acquaitances, former lovers, ect...

It's up to you...I wouldn't try to "keep up with the joneses" re: friends...just cherish the ones you have...make new ones as appropriate as you move through life...

There are three levels
Acquaintances- no emotionally attachments- just fun folks
Friends- people you trust and share important things with.
Best Friends- people that are as close as blood kin and get all the Bennie's of that.

Most people with more than three- those are acquaintances.
A commitment of love and respect is a bond and that takes a lot of energy and time....seldom do we have the time for more than three dear friends. If you do- more power to ya.

I have one best friend of 26 years, there have been others along the way,but they proved NOT to be the kind of friends I like.So my best friend seems to be the only friend I need. The others...well...with friends like those I don't need enemies.I don't think it is possible to have 30 real friends, acquaintances maybe, but friends...I don't think so.I just don't believe that I have that much in common with soooo many people.

I think quality beats out quantity any day. I have, and like it that way, a few close friends. They're always there, we talk everyday, its good. I like safety though. If you're more spontaneous than you might enjoy different people everyday. And if you feel like burning some bridges, they're a dime a dozen-j/k.

The benefit of knowing a lot of people is always having someone to go out with, always having someone to talk to, networking, etc. But, when it comes down to it, what really is important, is honesty and caring. That's prob most important when it comes to friends. Stick with the good people in life and they'll stick with you through everything.

Friends and acquaintences are very different things. It appears the SOOOOOO many "friends" you speak of are nothing more than casual acquaintances. Your "friends" are people whom you are close with, share experiences and life events, good and bad. make sure you know the difference.

There's a difference between friends and acquaintances. There is no set number to either. Consider yourself fortunate if you have one truly honest sticks-closer-than-a-brother friend in your life.

I would rather have a few really good friends than a whole bunch of so-so friends.

It doesn't really matter. It is not about the quantity but the quality of your friends.
