Look into Seattle. The University of Washington is there, if it meets your needs. The advantanges of Seattle are that it's an easy flight from SFO or OAK, and it's different enough from the Bay Area to be worth your time but close enough in style to let you be comfortable.
If you want something a lot different, then, yeah, try Miami or Washington, D.C. DC has lots of advantages: big city, cultural opportunities, lots of multi-cultural groups, and lots of colleges. The downside is it's expensive.

Some good places are: San Francisco, Santa Cruz ( the more expensive places to be exact), Walnut Creek, San Jose, Monterey Bay, and Sacramento are great possible places to live. The reason why is because there is no country like charateristics in any of them just the city charm.

Seattle on the West Coast... or DC or Boston on the East Coast. There are no REAL cities in Southern California.

Well, try Boston, Chicago, or New York City. New York City and Chicago are probably more expensive than anywhere in California but Boston has pretty good schools so anywhere in the north. New Jersey and Maryland is pretty good too. The weather might affect you so maybe try Miami.

you could move on the east coast or stay on the west and move up to washington and go to gonzaga, or washington state university. washington is very beautiful but it adds that city life to it. i think you'll love washington just as much as i do.

Yes, please try the East Coast. I recommend Boston or New York, maybe Miami. Thank-you for moving.
