I'm not really sure what's going on, but my hands and feet have swollen up quite a bit in the last two weeks. My joints are sore and stiff. I feel like I'm 72, but I'm only 32! Now my wedding band and engagement ring are stuck on my ring finger, my finger is really starting to get sore. I'm starting to panic. I've tried cold water, soapy gel, Vaseline, even KY jelly. I've come very close to getting them off, but nothing has worked as of yet. Is there a better time of day to try this? If I keep trying repeatedly won't the finger swell more? HELP! What should I do if nothing works?

Morning is the best time to try, before your joints have began to swell with the day's heating. Try soaking them in cold water and then use vegetable or olive oil - massage it in as well as you can to get it under the ring. Then try spinning the ring around (like you are screwing off a lid) instead of just pulling it up. Use more oil as you go. If this doesn't work, you may have to have a jeweler or doctor cut it off.

Don't panic! Try taking a diuretic...you could just be retaining water. If I eat pizza or something else salty, my rings feel tight the next day. Also, try ice...being cold shrinks your fingers. If you're working/living in a really hot environment that could have caused the swelling.

Good luck! I'm sure you'll get them off before you have to have them cut off.

Here's a mortuary trick. Thread some string through a needle, slip the needle between the ring and your finger and tie the string around the ring. Then pull, hard. It should slip right off.

well stop panicking, put youre fingers in some ice water, try and stick it for as long as you can, and then try and pull them off,, if you cant then you might have to think about getting them cut off...but keep trying the ice water, and when youre finger is cold, put some vaseline, oil and try that way...good luck

you need to get your finger to shrink which ice will do. Try getting your finger as cold as possible and then useing lotion to help get it off. If that doesn't work, looks like you might have to cut it off.

try cutting down on your salt intake and drink 8 8 oz glasses of water. The best time to try to get it off would be in the morning. Good luck.

Do you have rheumatoid arthritis in your family. That would explain your other ailments.
