There are a couple of really great t-shirt idea books out there (yes, some involve needle and thread, but not so much that you really need to be able to do more than sew a straight line).

How about cutting off the top neck and sleeves, using the hem as a casing to run a string through and make it into a skirt?
How about slicing patterns into it, like a heart, and then wearing one under it so the lower layer shows through the slits?
Or cutting away the sides of the shirt and putting holes in so that you could lace it up the side (with a tank beneath it) to cinch it closer to your body?
You could use stamps and permanent markers to update the printing on a t - change the color a bit...
There are some great tank top ideas too, but most likely you wouldn't be able to wear them to school.

Good luck!

there are a few options

1. if its just a plain tee with nothing on, then flip it inside out. if it looks like its wierd, put pins or other accesories on the make it look like it was insideout on purpose
2. cut little holes on the side of your tee and use a ribbon or lace to tie the knots up like you're tying a shoe
3. if there's a collar then cut the collar off
4. if there're buttons, change the boring buttons into some fun ones (example: rainbow, hearts, etc)
5. cut the sleeves off
6. use a ribbon or lace and tie one side of the sleeve together on the top of your shoulder
7. wrinkle the tee real bad it'll look cool
8. buy those papers where you can print a logo from the computer onto them and iron it on your shirt ( you can buy them at Michaels or other art stores
9. accesories on them
10. tye die your tees, its really fun. (buy the dyes from art stores)

good luck and have fun

Cut an inch or 2 off the sleeves. Then they'll curl up a little and give the shirt a new look.

if the shirts are printed or have a design on them..u can take sandpaper and rub it over it to give it a vintage look..or if you wanna do something with scissors..fold the shirt in half and make a slit and wear a wife beater underneath =]

fabric paint!

or make cool designs on the computer. print on iron-on paper. make them look more interesting by cutting out the shape so the iron-on isn't the plain old square

go to a craft store. they make all sorts of patches, beads, sequins, and trim you can add
