In '98 and 2002 he wasn't there for their last game and this year he went out after 2 and a half games.

He's still injured from the World Cup and can't play in AC Milan after almost 2 months!!

beleive it or not, some professional athlete's have short careers because they have a low tolerance to pain. And this is not just with football (soccer) players.

a famous example of this is the great dutch striker, Marco Van Basten. He would get regular injuries as do most players, however he would take longer to heal because he had a low tolerance to pain and would consider his injury more serious than it actually was. In his case, VanBasten believed his ankle injury to be career ending, although he probably could have continued.
I think Nesta is probably similar to Van Basten in that he gets injured, but psychologically struggles to play through the pain.

i personally have never liked Nesta because of this. i am more of a fan of players who must leave the field on a stretcher (or almost), if they are truly injured. I will probably be criticized because of this, but thats just my opinion.

he has bad luck in every world cup, in 1998 when he got injured the doctors told him it was impossible for him to go back to fields but he tried alot then after 7 months he went back to play, n in 2002 his foot swolled that prevent him from playing n this year even the serie a didn't finish he got injured from a game between milan n another club i forgot its name, n he couldn't play till the first game of italy in world cup but this year his luck was also bad....poor him but FORZA SANDRO NESTA THE BEST DEFFENDER IN THE WORLD

I would assume that his body is strained in some unnatural way. I would assume the pain prevents him from performing after that.
