Labor was like really bad menstrual cramps - thank God for epidurals!!!! It was 15 hours of excitement, pain, fear, trust and physical endurance. The second you hold your little one in your arms, you'll realize it was worth every second!

It was scary and exciting and amazing! Labor at first leaves you thinking I can do this, then it progresses into something that you have never felt before (super intense cramping and pain) but it can be managable with the right mindset. Pushing out the baby can be exhausting, but remember that the type of pushing you want to do is not with your stomach muscles, you want to push like you are trying to poop out the baby- that is the right type of pressure. Once you get them out, it is so amazing, worth every second! The thing that I was not prepared for that no one ever mentioned was the day after. Your bottom hurts quite a bit, just lots of pressure. And you use all of your muscles when pushing and you exhaust yourself, I felt like I had been hit by a bus and wondered why no one told me about that. Remember, women do it all of the time, and some(like me) even do it 3 times! It can't be all that bad if we are willing ot go back and do it again! Stay calm, and remember, when it is over you will meet one of the most important people in your life!

Labor was painful.........having baby was wonderful. After I was able to hold my baby I was ready for another one....that was with both babies! My first child: Pregnancy was perfect, got acne, was 10 days late and had to be induced......took 27hrs from induction-birth. It was so much pain and after 14hrs I asked for an epidural.....at 24hrs I was still at 8cm and the doctor wanted to do a C-Section! I was so pissed.........she waited longer and then she forced my cervix to open.......it was a harder delivery cause my son had a big head and I had to have an epistotomy. I was in so much pain........I couldn't walk or sit for like 2 weeks...i could only lay on my side....With my 2nd child......I had more complications in the pregnancy. Once day i got up off of the computer and it felt like someone kicked me between the legs.......i was so worried, the doctor told me to go to the hospital. I get there and they tell me that i am not having contractions and that she doesn't know why i am in pain and that i should see my doctor on Monday morning, which was the next day.......i drive home and as soon as i walk in the door my water broke in my foyer! I was so pisssed.......now i had to drive back to the hospital....the nurses were stupid because they put me on patocin to get me going since my water broke........she kept telling me that my cervix was dialating fast. I was so excited! The doctor told her to lower the dose so that he would make it on time. Then he gets there and checks me and he says that I am no where near what the nurse told him........and it was already at 19hrs! I started crying cause he told me since my water broke, i needed to have the baby within 24hrs and that I may have to go in for a c-section.....fortunately i was in labor for only 20 hrs and my contractions didn't hurt til the very last 30 minutes and it took me only like 5 minutes to push her out and i had no tearing so no need for stitches! and i didn't have meds for this baby...

Well, I did it with no meds.. I felt very primal. It was intense pain, but no so bad, you couldn't deal with it. I just wanted to be by myself, and to squat and plop her out. I didn't want to be touched and I hit the nurse because she was insisting on giving me an IV even though I was doing it naturally and it wasn't in my birthing plan. The worst part is the head..it feels like you are going to rip in half. But after that, everything was easy..and I had a natural high from all the hormones and my daughter was alert and healthy and got a 10 on her Apgar score. It was after 4 am but I was so awake, and wondering why everyone else was so tired. The next day, I felt a little tender, and it stung a little to pee. The only thing that really hurt was my hand where the freakin IV was that I didn't want.

well, I have never been through it myself, but , although , being told you have reached 10 centimeters can be awesome, you know you are in for a great deal of pain! be sure to get the epiderel, i have a friend that has 3 kids, and hse did it all natural , but i say give me the drugs!!!! it will be tiring, you will be glad to see your baby, but very tired from pushing. a little sore after, and sometimes a lot of bleeding, some more than others. hold you breath and count to 10 , 5,6,7,8,almost there 10 breathe, you will hear that too! well good luck!!!

I was in labor for 24 hours before a c-section.

It hurt like a bad cramp for me. You'll experience it differently.

The epidurel was the worst part though--I can still feel the needle going in.

Even though it was the most pain I have ever felt in my life, it was wonderful, and actually holding my baby after the twenty hours and twenty minutes of labour was a feeling that can never be rivaled. It was an amazing experience.

I'm so lucky because it was so easy. It was my 1st pregnancy and I was worried because I've always heard how the 1st one takes forever. I slept threw most of it and was only in labor for 5 hours and I only had to push once.
