The Earth was de-classified due to the aggressive and ignorant nature of its inhabitants.
We debated it for awhile on the mother ship, but in the end it was de-classified.

A mass of body floating in space must have signs of intelligent life forms on it, or used to, in order to be classified as a planet. Therefore, the Earth is no longer considered a planet, since we have digressed into a hodge podge of reality shows and blogs.
Oh, and by the way, it was Pluto that was declassified...

Because Pat Robertson said so. He said it was an abomination to group Earth with other bodies. He also said that since Earth is the center of the Universe as stated in the Bible, it is a sin to treat Earth like other heavenly bodies. He threatened that God was going to punish us if we didn't declassify it.

It wasn't Earth. Pluto's classification was changed today. Pluto is no longer classified as a planet.
