I am a woman as well.. but today I look at the women acting so stupid in shopping malls searching for clothes and trying them on.. shoes.. bags.. endless..foolish.. why are we so stupid???????victims of the ads.....wasting away our hard earned cash and precious time as well..

Because from the first day of life we are complimented endlessly on our looks and attractiveness and choice of outfit.
Our role models as children are Disney princesses who wear beautiful dresses and end up rich.
We are given female dolls to play with and are encouraged to play dress up.
Commercials barrage us with My Little Ponies and Barbies and Bratz with little plastic hairbrushes and endless Velco-attached clothes.
In adolescence, our TV shows and magazines tell us we love shopping, sales, and shoes.
We our told yet again that our identities are on the outside of us, and we need to make them look pretty so that others will like us.
We start wearing makeup and trying to look older.
We end up reading Diary of a Shopaholic books.
Through the midst of this we are told that spending money is satisfying and fun, that decorating your house is fulfilling, that new clothes will cheer us up.
And we tell the women who don't agree that they have let themselves go. That they aren't taking care of themselves.
We're even willing to pay up to thirty dollars for a black marker to draw under our eyelashes.
We're laughing the whole time, even though as we laugh you can see the wide-eyed insanity bubbling underneath.
We totally lost and we're trying to fill ourselves up with our beds, baths, and beyond.
We're cash cows for consumerism and we can't stop craving.

I go shopping for a variety of reasons. Sometimes there's nothing more fun then going to the mall with a group of girls and chatting and having lunch and trying on clothes. Sometimes I really need a new outfit for an interview, or a date. Other times it's just nice to buy something pretty to wear. Everyone chooses how to spend their time, and it's fine if shopping isn't for you, but some people really enjoy it. For those that enjoy it, they don't see it as a waste of time, but rather a fun and worthwhile activity.

Partly, it's just fun to pay attention to fashion and take an interest in how you look. But it's also an obsession for some, who end up giving too much time to very shallow concerns.
I think there IS a healthy middle ground. I love a day at the mall sometimes. As long as it doesn't interfere with time or money you should be spending on other priorities...or rather, as long as you HAVE other priorities...I don't think it's a problem.

Because that's what women do, Yeah it may be stupid and foolish but it's a women thing. I actually do it when I'm sad or depressed (not like it's the right thing to do) but it helps me. Then when i look at my wallet and realize i have just blew 2 hard days of work or more in 1 hr i get all bummed out again, it's never ending...............

Because it's fun and everyone likes wearing new clothes! Some people just have less priorities than others, like Puritans.

Well it is their choice. Besides who can resit shopping? Most things are for girls anyways. Besides there are "cute" things that every girl must have! Like diamonds or shoes. You can never have too many shoes!
