Marriage is the venue which society, the legal system and most couples, acknowledge as the proper way to show commitment!!!
Marriage both bestows privilege, and mandates responsibility, upon both parties!
So, how could you possibly devote yourself, in a legal manner, to another person, without a Marriage? What you gonna do, a 'blood Brother' ceremony?

Some people are married, but not committed. Some people are committed, but not married. If you are committed and married, you have it right! A piece of a paper only provides legal protection...it has little to do with love and commitment. Commitment is the most important factor in a relationship.

Committed is the important thing. People enter marriages everyday that will not go the distance because they simply are not committed to each other. And there are people who are in the best relationships imaginable that have no plans whatsoever of getting married. The two are quite different things and marriage without the other is a joke.

I don't think it's important at all. Really I don't see the point other than fun...to me it's just a formality! Actually some people say, and I agree, that the best way to kill a relationship is to get married. If you think about it, it makes sense. You quit caring, and just get used to them being around, and it can take all of the spontaneous and great things away!
Not all marriages though...
But yeah, marriage changes nothing...like I said, just a formality!

its all about your values. marriage is really important for some people where others are just as happy being committed to each other and not necessarily married.the important thing is that the needs of both people involved in the relationship are met

Commitment is the key. Marriage is the legal doctrines that protect both sides. If you have commitment the marriage is only a safety net.

All marriage does is makes it legal with the court/state and its documented on to paper. I have been with my current bf for over 7 years and we both will not marry each other we will live with each other for the rest of our lives. Things seem to change after the M word.

Be committed.
It's easy to be married but to be truly committed to someone else is a different thing entirely.
It requires sacrifice and love and devotion and respect and integrity.
Commitment is a difficult thing to posess for certain people.
But when you do have it, it's magnificent.

Marriage is just a piece of paper and many end in divorce. However, it depends on how you see things, would marriage be important to you?
