how does it feel and what is like when your water leaks instead of breaks?

i think my water is leaking instead of going to break and gush out all at the same time so i just wanted to ask to see what aother people have gone through and what their experience was

i think i might be leaking but my doc is a bit** excuse my language and told me not to go in until my contractions are 5 min apart and unbearable if i went in for any other reason she said she would just send me home! and i have been having contractions for days but not 5 min apart more like 20 min and they are unbearable! i want to be induced i am 38 weeks which is full term but she won't do anything i want i told her i was thinking of doing a planned c section just to see what she would say and she told me that she wouldn't do one not unless i went passed my due date which i am soory but that is a load!

when the fluid leaks it just feels like your panties are continually wet.. best thing to do is to put on a clean pair of cotton panties and lay on the sofa for 1/2 an hour... if you get up and your panties are wet again.. it's most likely your water is leaking.. if your stupid doctor won't let you come in for that.. then you should hit her or something.. once the water breaks you and your baby can be at a higher risk of infection- so don't take any baths or anything.. don't have sex, and don't stick anything up there! best of luck to you... if all else fails, try going to the emergency room.. forget the dumb ob doc if she's not helping.. and let them know that you are in some serious pain with the contractions!

I don't know. The best advice I can say is call your doctor or call the hospital and talk to the nurse in the birth place. My water broke while I was at home alone. I only had two really mild contraction all day and the doctor said to wait until I had hard contractions and about an hour later I called the nurse at the birth center at the hospital and she said to come in so they can check me out. They ended up putting something in my IV so I will have contractions. From the time my water broke to the time my son came out it was 12 hours.

my water just leaked with my 2nd child. i thought that i kept peeing on myself at first. That lasted for like a couple of hours and then i told my mom and she said that it was my water breaking. Went to the hospital and it was my water breaking. With my first son it just gushed out like someone threw a water balloon at my butt!

If you think you are leaking you NEED to go the hospital. Your OB will tell you any leaking of fluid is a warrant to go to the hospital to get checked out.

never happened to me but i dont think you really feel it because my brothers wife didnt relize her water as leaking until she had a doctors appiontmet and they told her so
