Wilmington, NC. It is a beautiful coastal city with so much to do and a relatively low cost of living. It is a 7-1 girl to guy ratio, and a Marine base is an hour away if you are into dudes. Nothing but beautiful women everywhere. Wilmington is the largest historic city in NC. The downtown has so many great restaurants. You can eat on the Cape Fear River or go to the beach. I love the Cape Fear peninsula. You get all four seasons and each one of them are mild.

New Mexico is nice, but not always warm. If you want warm and sunny-southern CA or AZ. Oregon/Washington is beautiful and not that cold along the coastal areas. I like Roswell, nice small city, nice area close to the mountains. What about Florida-do you like the beaches? Not bad, though sometimes steamy. Texas coast is not all that great, and beaches are not that nice.

It sounds like we are in the same boat. I am locating to New Mexico. I don't like the fact that I have to leave San Antonio, but there is a better opportunity waiting for me there. I have to relocate to New Mexico not only for my job but also for financial obligations. I have one daughter if you know what I mean. I wish you the best of luck. Try San Antonio.

i have the same problem. and in fact most of us -- singles have the same issues. where to live..and where to enjoy life to its max. potential. that is the question, as sheakspeare would have put it... I like california..you find all there...good, bad, mediocre, climate, hot, warm...women, girls, boys too...it all depends what you like...food as you state is not the first and last criteria -- you will finally chose a place not too far away from "close relatives of yours" -- true at 42 you have a long way to go...but we always...have that fear...if "i am left alone" then what??? good living wherever you decide...
ps. at one time I should have decided...to stay and live in las vegas, or hawaii...both places still look ideal to me...it depends whether you like the "sea" or the "desert" voila.
