In most cases yes. Certain situations you can't. Wal Mart and the mom mistreats her child- It would usually just cause a disturbance and i must bury my feelings for the well being of the child.

It would depend on the situation. If it was some matter between rough customers I'm inclined to mind my own business. I never intervene when someone is disciplining a child, I feel that some people can transfer anger onto their Kids if confronted; and I don't want that at all. I'd rather call a cop if it appears that abuse is taking place, if it's to that point then that's who should be dealing with it. I have asked the occasional Chap if He would feel better expressing Himself outside. Most of them felt that perhaps they had over spoken their opinions and everything was just fine after that. On very rare occasions that wasn't enough. That's a long time passed now and we were all perhaps a little loud with each other. It does seem different now, some of the things I am made to understand that folk say to each other is shocking. Particularly when it's their very own family or friends. Most people just grow out of that blustering stage, a rare few need to be helped along. I remember a favorite saying of my Dear Father, God rest Him all these years gone by. "Hollow pots ring loudest." True then, true now. Take care.

Yes, because if you don't you are as legally responsible as the one who is doing the abusing in the first place. This is very damaging to the self-esteem of the person suffering the verbal abuse. Given enough, it will become internalized and thus self-fulfilling and damage the person's whole life.

Yes, because I want to see them re-direct their vile anger towards someone who is powerful enough in their personal image to reject their idiocy, and, I divorced my manic depressive paranoid wife, so, I miss it!
I have forgotten how really horrid it was, and how magnificiently I performed under it, for over 24 years!
