I have been trying to wear contacts for a very long time and have had no luck. Do thoses of you that wear contacts have any secrets to putting them in and taking them out? Your help would be greatly appriciated.

I have been wearing contacts since 1985..I have never had any problems with them, my eyes adjusted to them instantly..some people just can't wear them, but ask your eye doctor, he may be able to help you adjust to them..

When I put mine in I use my second and third fingers to hold my eye wide open, with the contact resting correctly on my index finger, I then just tap my eye gently and the contact sticks to the eyeball. When I first started wearing contacts I would do this laying down on the ground over a hand mirror and clean towel, so that if I dropped it I wouldn't lose it.

When I take them out, I use my index finger to move the contact from my cornea, to the corner of my eye, then use my fingertips to squeeze it together and pluck it out.

I wear soft contacts, and I know the hard lenses are a little different, but if you have a severe astigmatism and are using the hard lenses, ask your doctor about toric lenses, they're weighted so the fit your astigmatism correctly (they take a minute to settle in place) and soft, which I find to be much more comfortable to get used to.

First, the best thing to do is go to a Dr. who specializes in contact lenses. A REAL eye Dr. DON'T go to one of those chain places like united optical or something. They just wanna sell you stuff. I went to Azman Eyecare...www.AzmanEye.com... they are awesome. Look for someone with some of the same qualifications if possible.

After that it is just a matter of practice really. But without the right contacts, they will never feel good.

I wear contacts and to put them in I take both of my middle fingers and open my eye up more (holding my eyelashes back) and I take my index finger and stick the contact in my eye. Sometimes I put 1 drop of contact lens solution in the contact lens before doing this to increase its moisture.

To take it out, I simply slide the contact to the white part of my eye and then pinch it off.

I wear toric lenses for astigmatism. I use my left hand to pull down my lower eye lid a little then use my right finger to press the lens to my eye. If you do it right, you'll almost feel a little bit of suction - then I blink over it.
Taking them out is pretty easy but hard to get used to. You just kinda grab it and pinch.
Just practice - you'll get used to it and your eyes will get less sensitive.

I got mine on in March and now its easy to put them on and even easier to take them off. To put it on it I put it on my index finger of my right hand, with my left index I raise my eyelid and with the ring finger of the right hand i lower my lower lid, I look up,put it in and look back down to get it in and set. To take it out just hold ur upper lid and literally grab it, meaning ur2 fingers will be touching.

when you first put them in try not to blink. if you do it just flips the contact out. and when you are putting them in try to open your eye as wide as possible. its not hard to take them out. just pull down your lower lid and pinch it out. dont use your finger nails!
