Well having a baby does take a lot of work and I don't know if there is a "normal" amount of time for you to get back to normal. I certainly would not worry about the shorter period. I think from my own experience having children does change some things in your body.
I would make sure you go and get the check up from your doctor and the pain you feel or soreness could be do to stitches. I would be checked to make sure though. I had over 100 stitches with my first baby and it took a long time to not be sore.

Having an episiotomy doesn't affect when your periods will return. It depends on other factors like if you are breastfeeding and how long you had discharge after delivery, your hormonal cycle can change too after you have had a baby. Did you go for a 6 week check up? You might have a new 'normal', like lighter periods. Skin is very thin you might nt be ready to use tampons during your period, that could cause soreness and dryness.

It is quite normal for your hormone levels to be off for a while after childbirth. That would easily explain the length of your period. You don't say whether the soreness is from your vagina or utereus. Regardless, the question of soreness should be answered by your doctor. Don't wait for your appointment if you're not feeling well. Call the office or visit your local ER.

It can take a year to get back to normal, 2 years for your bones and hips to properly 'pop' back into place.
Are you breastfeeding? If so this speeds up the process of toning you body and getting rid of your tum.
When I was fit enough and not absolutely exhausted, I got out walking everyday, after 4months, I was out twice a day. Gentle walking with the pushchair is the best type of exercise!

It can take several months to get back to "normal" and for some women after giving birth menstration doesn't go back to what it was before.
