I've always been a Pacers fan, always will be. They've got great talent in Jermaine O'Neal and Al Harrington, and an up-and-comer in Danny Granger, with reliable role players like Jeff Foster and Marquis Daniels. Stephen Jackson can now go to his more-accustomed role of 3rd scorer getting kick outs and draining those three's, with Al and Jermaine taking care of the inside. But at the point guard position? Jamaal Tinsley has to step up, and it's obvious that Bird and Walsh are pinning their hopes on him. He's great when he's not injured, but their quest for the title has to go through him having a great year. Go Pacers!

Well, they have a lot of work ahead of them. They have a talented starting five but thats it. The pacers do not have a great bench. Besides, they are still weak in the Center position, O'Neal is a Power Forward and shouldn't even be placed at center.
The point guard by committee isn't a good idea. With this team, they need a person to dish out to the wings and make Al Harrington and O'Neal their center of attention. Make the two big men happy, then the rest of the team with be rewarded. Consider this, if they had a PG who dished to their two big men, that would open up the outside for M Daniels and Granger, as their numbers get up, then teams have to be honest with them. If they defend the outside, then the inside will kill them. If they defend the inside, then shoot fest will ensue... They have some talent, they are just missing a true big center who just rebounds and blocks shots. Someone who can scare opponents from ever entering the middle. They just need someone who can give them 9ppg, 12 rpg, and 3 block shots...If they had a Joel Przybilla type player...Doesn't have to be spectacular just efficient and mean as nails player. Then they need a PG that can dish the ball and occasionally shoot the three. Too bad it is too risky to bring Jayson Williams (bulls 1st round pick 2002-2003- Duke Blue Demons) who is coming off that major injury that took his career. He would be a great fit. He is smart and can pass the ball, and defenders would have to keep him at bay, if he is hot then there is no one who could stop him.
Good luck...In a short answer, the Pacers are still a wee bit off.

The East has teams that are just as good as the Pacers or better. The teams just as good are the Nets and Cavaliers. The Bulls are just behind those three teams. The Pistons and Heat are still above the East. I think the Pacers will have a fine year, but I think they won't get to the conference finals. Probably lose in the conference semis.

No. They don't have the players. Yes they got harrington and he's good, but they lack a good center and point guard. Tinsley is ALWAYZ hurt and Jermaine O'Neal also has a tendency to get hurt. They're a long way from being title contenders

They'll be alright but they don't have a great PG. Tinsley is always hurt and you traded a good PG in Anthony Johson for a 38 year old!? The Pacers will make it to the second round at best

Possibly. The Pacers will probably be improved next season over last year.

Personally, ever since the brawl, Pacer has been mentally beating themselves up. They need to get themselves out of this funk.
