I never really had a good path in college. I've just been going with the flow, because everytime I want to do something someone shuts me down. I want to go into psychology but everyone keeps warning me against it. what should i do?

You have to do what you want to do. Its college, don't listen to the nay-sayers. That said, I find psych to be a BS major for people who don't know what they want to do with their life. But if psych is the career you want go for it. It might take a bit longer to graduate, but at least you'll graduate with the degree you want, on a path to a career you want.

What do you want to do with your BA in Psych? Do you plan on going on to a MA? Do you have a job type lined up or in mind? Have you spoken to people that have the type of job you want?

I can tell you from experience that a BA in Psych or Soc nets pay almost so low it doesn't pay student loans. In my area it pays at the tops 12-14 per hour.

I would look at why you wanted to go into psych and make sure your expectations are realistic.

Make an appointment with the college guidance counciler. Its is there job to help you with career advice and go over you current credits to steer you in the right path and make the most out of what you already have credit for.

Did the same thing. Changing now is like deciding to not go to the store in your driveway! Trust. Don't wait till you are completely done.
