How quickly does it go from your waist just being a little thicker to it being a full blown bump. I'm asking because in the past week and a half I've gone from my clothes being a little tight to not being able to get in them because I look like I'm 5 months pregnant (I'm only 3 months). Is this normal? Is it just water retention? Should I be worried and go to the doc?

Just want to add, my appetite hasnt changed at all. I'm not eating for two or anything, I eat healthily and do a lot of walking (nothing too much though), I am fairly thin normally.
Thanks for the answers

No, that's completely normal. Water retention is a part of pregnancy. There's nothing to worry about. Your doctor will measure your "bump" on every visit, so unless they claim there's something wrong with it, you have nothing to worry about.
Don't worry, I looked five months pregnant at three months, too. :o) And from my seventh month on, everyone said it looked like the baby was "due any day." Don't worry so much about it. :o) Just relax, and take it easy.

Is this your first baby? I didn't show till I was 6 months with my first. My second it was 3 months. All my friends and family have had the same thing happen where you show sooner the second time around. But it did seem both times that one day I just looked pregnant all of a sudden

I think you're OK. If you are worried at all just to ease your mind, (because you don't need to be stressed out right now), you can call your doc and tell him/her your concerns. I knew a lady who lived upstairs from me and she kept telling me that she was pregnant and I didn't believe her. One morning she came downstairs and it looked like she had swallowed a beach ball! She was 7 months pregnant at the time. Everyone is different.

For some woman it does seem to happen over night. My Aunt said 1 day she found out she was pg and the next she was in maternity clothes...
I lost 35 lbs during my pregnancy and my girl friend who was pg at the same time gained 40lbs and she is a vegetarian and worked out...I ate what I wanted except red meat and lost...
It's different for each woman...

Every person is different. I wore my regular clothes till almost 8 months... My friend who was due the same time was in maternity clothes the 3rd month. If you are really worried call your doctor, but you should be fine. Good luck!

No, it happens gradually, I am 36 weeks now and i am huge. One day I noticed how big I was in the mirror, but it happens gradually. Also some days you seem bigger then others depending on your clothes or if you drop!

You are just eating way too much... your probably just getting fat. The baby is way too small still to be growing like that. Take it easy on the carbs. Your eating for health not eathing for two.

This happens when your uterus grows too big for the bottom of your pelvis, and presto, it is now moving up and out to make more room!! You will especially show more if your thin.
