The article uses statistics which help support it's claim that racists have low IQs. I agree that ignorance is tied to low intelligence.
Racism is not simply white vs black. The pictures of neonazis members paint the picture that white supremacists and nazis are the only racists. Every person has the potential for racism based on the very stats this article points out.
The article uses information gathered as far back as the 1940s to illustrate points. It also lists "media heroes" as an example of how minorities (12 of the 14 listed are black. I thought this was about racism!!!) have overcome racism in America. I would definately not lump Barry Bonds and Latoya Jackson in with Martin Luther King Jr!
While I agree that most racists have low IQs, I feel this article is dangerously close to being slanted rhetoric itself.

This article is clear that racists have lower than average IQ's. I think it is due mainly to that people who are openly racist are from the lower class and have less education. I think that they find it convenient to blame others for their lot in life.
I do not think that racist thinking is the result of ignorance. Even children in elementary school know that all people are basically the same.
In my opinion racism is like a religion. It a belief in something that that is not proven by science. This does not mean that religious people have low IQ's. Racism has been proven false by science; God has not been proven false by science.

Racism is ignorance that's taught, usually by their peers and surroundings. These days it seems soooo sad that there's even such a word as racism. Who actually is of one race now days?? My son is 10, when he grows up and has a family there only be mixed races, which is the way the world should see people anyways. Good Question. What article are you refering to?? Can you send it to me when you get a chance. Thanx

Interesting question ... possibly so. It goes against my grain to categorise every racist in a neat little package, though. Can there be exceptions? And what would make someone an exception? And if we're sitting back judging the IQ of racists, does that make us guilty of prejudice against people of lesser intelligence?

Racism has nothing to do with intelligence. Could be poor upbringing, or based on some incident or life experience. A white man who lost or could not get a job because of Affirmative Action may translate that into hatred of black people.
Or a black man that lost his job to a Mexican may start to hate all Mexicans. Some people feel they have reasonable justification... others are just morons.

Back in the day they used to try and scienctifically prove black people were inferior to whites and on the same level as primates, but nowadays i just believe racists are ignorant. there could be a correlation between racist views and lower IQ's...at least I'd like for there to be.

Perhaps some do, perhaps some don't. But really i don't think that being a racist means you have a low I.Q. I think they are probably insecure, mad, or have had bad experiences and want to get back at people.
People like that seriously need help!

No. That is sterotyping. I might as well say that all blacks love fried chicken. I do though think that all religious people have low IQ's as you have to be pretty stupid to believe in something that does not exist and model your life around a false belief.

Let's suppose that persons who are egotistical, and choose race or gender as the discrimator of "quality", at the very least, they are being obsessive-compulsive.
I would support the view that they are not "normal" and possibly are at some level of 'insane'.
I do know that I don't hire them, don't buy from them, and will not tolerate their behavior on any of my premises, and I am from the Norther Euroopean caucasion heredity.
