My momma passed away in March 2002 due to bipass heart surgury. She was 67 years old, loved to walk, loved flowers, loved the color violet. Any suggestions on what kind of tattoo to get?? I already have her name on my forearm with a butterfly on top. I realy want to pay a tribute to her, I love her dearly. I was the princess out of 12 brothers and sisters. We had a real close friendship/relationship.

OOOHHH...I am sorry to hear about your loss...as for your tatoo, I think you already know inside your heart what you will get.

i agree with ^^^^ try not to get a trendy tribal tattoo. Those after a few years wont look as hot (unless you are from an actual tribe which i know you arent). Get something with meaning to you. Look around a lot, go to different tattoo shops and look at what they have, so you can get a general idea of something that calls to you each time you visit a shop, there will always be one kind of tattoo that will stay in your mind, and thats the one you most likely should get. If not, maybe it will give you an idea of one you can think of on your own, your own design would be even hotter

I'm not sure how big you want to go but you could get an angel in a garden of flowers making the violets the dominant ones. Also try asking the tattoo artist to help draw up some ideas - as that is what they do for a living. Hope this helps some, btw sorry for your loss.

sounds like you already have a tribute tattoo to her. I have a tribute tattoo to my father, me and him loved fishing together, so i got a rainbow trout jumping out of the water done in beautiful colors. I suggest adding onto the tattoo you already have for her, or pick her most favorite hobby, or something in general that she really loved alot. Most people do that that i know of. I guess from what you said i would incorporate a violet into the tattoo you have already.

I had a tattoo done for my grandparents.... I still look at it till this day and love it... Here is what I would do... since I don't know where you are from... go to the book store and pick up a tattoo mag. look for shop listings those are the good shops to go to. Then I would go in and talk to one of the artists and ask to look at their portfolio... then if you like their work choose to work with them... Give them like a fifty dollar down payment and ask if you can sit down and talk with them about you mom and have them draw something up for you that will remind you of her tell them exactly what you told us... and more info tell them the size you were thinking of and where... they will draw you something that I think you will be very happy with... and if you don't like it tell them and tell them what you want changed...

Don't listen to the people on here that tell you not to get a tattoo... if you want one then get it... Because if some one doesn't like you because you have a tattoo then you are too good for them and you should drop them because friends and lovers should like you for who you are not because you have a tattoo...

Good luck and sorry to hear about your mom. Everything will get better. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions...
