Why do old folks look at my pregnant wifes tummy with discust?It bugs me?

at one time pregnancy was supposed to be hidden not celebrated
in fact I remember getting my mouth slapped for saying the word pregnant (the correct way to refer to it was "in a family way")

I would be wary of judging what someone's looks mean. Its easy to mistake someone's look of curiosity or interest with "disgust" or a "funny look". Can you read minds?

They may just be thinking "ooh look she's pregnant, I wonder how far along she is".

I'm 25 weeks pregnant and no one, old or young has looked at my belly with what I would interpret as "disgust" although I do get looks of "interest" sometimes.

If she's wearing crop/bra tops etc to expose her belly then it might freak them out a bit. When they were younger, pregnant women covered up. Its not their fault, its just what they are used to! I'm only 34 and I sometimes get freaked out by what teens do "these days" - imagine how much worse it is for an 80 year old to see a 20 doing stuff that would have been considered scandalous in their day". Try a little understanding.

Back in the day women had to hide the fact that they were preg. Alot of older people still believe in that tradition. My mother in law didn't want to see pictures, feel the baby move, buy her gifts, have a baby shower or anything like that until the baby was born. Just in case that I lost the baby. I say if you think your wife looks BEAUTIFUL and you make her feel beautiful then show off that belly, because it's only a matter of time before the belly is gone and you have the disaproval of all the old people looking at your actual baby to worry about

Because they are jealous. When I was pregant old peole would look at me like I am from a different world. People who don't have kids or think that your wife is too young to have kids they would look at her and think what is she thinking about. Just look back at them and smile. Say hi. Make them feel guilty for what they are doing. Keep your wife happy. She needs to have a lot of laught and good times while she is pregant. It will insure that the baby is happy too. They say that if a pregant woman is happy during her pregnancy then the baby will be happy and relaxed when it is born.

i have 4 kids one is a step son. and i have had that look alot! Once i even had some one say that i should have had an abortion. Its not that we are to young its that we are to iresponsable. back in there day teenagers had respect for there family and for there elders and that has all changed now. younger people are imature trouble making brats well most of them. look how much the world has changed around them.

Either they don't like her crop tops showing the belly button piercings and the tattoos, or they are just trying to remember their way home before they have to change their bag.

Because your publicly announcing you've had sex, and they don't get any anymore. According to old folks your supposed to lock yourself away til the babies born, and then you can say, 'look what the stork brought us'

does your wife wear skimpy, tight or immodest clothing?

I'm trying to think of reasons.
if it's none of those maybe they're just jealous
