go to your local tire repair/sales store. They will usually give them to you.

Have you tried your local junk yard? They do have things not for sale there. Also try the dump. Sounds gross but you'll be surprised by what people throw away. Also ask any gas stations. Some times they have some or know of places to get them!

Tire stores have to pay a disposal fee to get rid of them. They will load you up. You may, in fact, want to ask for a couple of bucks per tire (cheaper than the dumping fee and less effort for them.)

join the local freecycle group in your area. post a wanted add (yes, it is free) describe the size of tires you need, and wait for responses. the freecycle group in my area is ALWAYS getting rid of tires.
