headaches are so unbearable! I hate them. My husband gets them a lot, too. (I rub his neck, head and back, that helps a lot)She could try tylenol 1, with codeine(you can get it by asking the pharmacist, no prescription), ice packs or running the shower cold over her head. Then of course, there's the obvious, I think the doctor may really be able to help, and make sure it's nothing serious. It could be as simple as she's lacking certain vitamins, or maybe he can prescribe her something that will actually work.
added- Lady Deville has a good point, some headaches can be helped by water, it's worth a try!

It sounds like she gets migraines. If so, she should go to the doctor. For people with bad migraines, regular over the counter medication doesn't help all that much. She may need something specifically for migraines. If she is sensitive to light, or if she gets headaches after being outside or in a bright room, she should tell the doctor that as well as that is a symptom of migraines.

Migraine, could be one side or above one eye, anywhere, i suffer from migraine so i can understand what she may be going through.
When you walk the whole head thumps, movement, lights too bright, feeling sick, best thing i found is a dark room and painkillers that help you sleep.
My migraines last 2 full days without fail, timed to a tee.
Get doctor medication for the pain and sleep is the best thing.

Go and see the Dr - it might be migrane and you can get stronger painkillers from the Doc on prescription. Best all round if she gets it checked out really.

Are you sure it's not just an excuse?
Why are you asking a medical question on a site like this? Get her to a doctor.

She needs to see a doctor. Chances are it's just a headache, but you can get stronger pills on prescription so she should see a doctor anyway. But it could be something more serious, so please get her to a doctor.
