It is when your liver is unable to filter out the toxins inyou blood as it is suppossed to. If you are in complete liver failure it takes approx. 3 days till death without transplant. I overdosed on a medicine to committ suicide that contained acetametaphine. I had to go through 17 doses of this liquid i took orally so my liver didn't shut down. Many meds and also alcohol can cause this. Never mix acetametaphine w/alcohol. It can cause serious liver damage if not death.

Your liver filters out poisons from what you eat and drink. Drinking too much alcohol can damage your liver. If you continue to over drink, you may eventually burn little holes in the liver. This lets the liquid flow through the liver without being filtered. This is a life-threatening condition.

liver failure is just that. when your liver fails to be able to filter fluid toxins out of your bloodstream. many things can cause liver failure but the most common are alchohol and medications (when you start medications that do cause this the doctor will warn you and start you on blood tests every 6 months to monitor your liver, but overdoses of some medications such as tylenol can also cause it.)
