Is it just me, or is the prejudice towards women more accepted by society then prejudice against other ethnicities?

The reason I say this is when someone publicly makes a racist comment, they are (rightfully) heavily criticized - politicians have had to step down for doing this. But when someone makes a sexist comment (like the President of Harvard did recently) they suffer no consequences.

What do you think?

I think that, unfortunately that is the society we live in. It sux and shouldn't happen but it does and all we can do is start making a big deal when someone is being sexist and remember being sexist can go both ways.

I have mixed emotions about this but I think people are just more liberal about the subject because we know we are a great sex and no matter what is said, we can prove otherwise. I am not saying not to do anything about it, just don't let it get to you to the point where you become a negative person. Use this to fuel your womanly fire!! Turn the negative into a positive!!

Yes it's true. People makes sexist remarks all the time, and it's easily accepted.
For example, the most common one "He sucks. He throws like a girl." Does anyone not see they are criticizing women?

Yes, I think the president of Harvard University should give all women money because of the years we were forced to wear high-collared dresses and white gloves and not allowed to vote!!!

i agree totally with that. even in songs and the way people treat women on tv and in real life is horrible. when people say the word ******. toward black people. its one of the worst things tthat could happen. or people can say anything about other races and its horrible but when people say things about women its like people think its not a big deal. but to me i think its a huge deal. we faught so had to get equal rights and think we should be treated equal as well. this is horrible and i dont know why it goes on.

Yes, women are insulted all the time.

George Sr., a number of years ago, told the press that "Rape is like the weather, if it is inevitable. lie back and enjoy it."
