if you could add any free agent still available who would it be and would it be worth trading Tellqvist for future considerations to free up some money considering Pogge could probably take over back up for this season if not Aubin played great last year..

Toronto signing any player would be almost impossible since they have very little cap space, but of the FA's available Valerie Bure, Anson Carter and Jason Allison would have the most impact on the team.

I agree that there isn't anything out there at the moment that would postively affect the Leafs. But how I wanted them to try for Luongo.. he would have come too... that is how you would have made them Stanley cup contenders.

Tellqvist for future considerations eh? That may not be a made move. Aubin could do back-up, though I don't know if last year was flukey.

I don't think I would want any of the remaining free agents. I would tarde Tellqvist depending on what I get in return. Pogge's not yet already for the NHL this year, but we have Raycroft. I think he can rebound from the bad seaon last year. If he fails there's Aubin who proved to be solid at cruical times. Pogge should be ready in about a year.

Well, the Leafs were very close to signing Roenick which would have added depth to the weak and injury prone 2nd line (Lindros), but other than that the Learfs will refuse to spend any money on washed out veterns like Owen Nolan (wanted to sign with the Leafs as well) As for Tellqvist, he emerged as the Leafs go-to-goalie and should be in store for a solid year...that is if McCabe and Kaberle can keep up with the increased speed of the Eastern Conference.

I love the Leafs but they aren't going to get anything for Tellqvist in a trade and he doesn't make enough to free up any cap room. The only way the Leafs can get cap room is to get rid of one of the following: McCabe, Sundin, Kaberle, Kubina. I'm my opinion McCabe makes to much, and Sundin should be moved this year in a trade for some youth.

Maple Leaf fans only...

I'm sure even most leaf fans realize that Tellquist has no trade value.

I'm looking forward to the those first two games of the season.

They need to trade some veterans for legitimate youth. This year is a waste anyways.

is it 39 or 40 years since the last cup win?
And what would you get for Tellqvist....Maybe a Bag of Pucks for Belak?
