None, tampons are horribly bad for vaginal health, environment and really inconvenient.
I use a Mooncup menstrual cup, it is a little like the Instead cups that Mel mentioned above but it is bell-shaped and made from silicone so it is reusable making it more environmentally friendly, more convenient, you can sterilize it making it more hygienic and they are a lot cheaper than any other menstrual product.

You can leave them in for up to 12 hours, wear them before your period and wear them to bed, so you very rarely have to empty them, a lot less trouble, also help reduce menstrual cramps and menstrual flow in comparison to tampons.
You can buy one, try it for up to twelve months depending on the brand you try, and send it back for a full refund if you don't like it – I know a few thousand women who use them, I have yet to meet anyone who has sent theirs back – they pay for themselves in savings compared to tampons within the first few months of using them and they last for up to ten years.

Actually, it isn't a tampon at all. It is something called Instead, available at Walgreens, or www.softcup.com. It is basically a cup which holds menstrual fluids, and can be worn for up to 12 hours! Its great because you don't have to worry about leaking or anything like that. There isn't any weird odor because the fluids don't come into contact with oxygen.
They take a little getting used to for inserting--but so did tampons, in the beginning. Also, not very convenient for changing in public bathrooms, you'll want to have a sink handy for washing your hands.

Playtex. Pink Box. Better than tampax because the applicator is plastic and the roundness "feels better." Comes in lots of varieties too. :)

Tampax-scented ones... those are the best, they smell fresh and are very comfortable to wear.
