I need to say that when you say "Blacks" I'm assuming "Blacks" that are part of the hip-hop culture. Not all "Blacks" use hip-hop slang, or speak with an accent (sometimes a thick southern drawl, or a New York accent)

When you communicate with others you pick up slang terms, and ways of speaking that are illiterate, and not proper grammar. I try to avoid talking with poor grammar, and too much slang. Some slang was invented for the purpose of communicating about illegal activity without the authorities understanding. So naturally this language is evolving so that people that are not in gangs, or criminals don't understand what they are talking about. Illiteracy, slang, and very thick accents make it difficult for you to communicate to someone who is not from that gang culture group.
I do use slang, but I try to only use slang that most people understand, and there are some cool things to say that are fairly close to good English and acceptable grammar.

A decade ago to learn English, you had to attend costly English classes or purchase course material like tapes and books. Now you can learn English for free from the comfort of your home using the internet. The BBC and the British Council offer a number of online courses which teach written and spoken English. You can also improve your English by watching television programs and reading English newspapers. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/qnzpt

First of all, if someone causes you not to speak well, then maybe you couldn't speak very well in the first place. Also, it shows how weak-minded you are. I am a Black woman and I tend to speak and write English very well. Illiteracy is not limited to only Blacks. It's all in how you were raised. If you were intelligent, you would know that. Stereotypes limit not only the accused, but the accuser.

Well then I'm sure you never do speak English well, period! Are you aware that saying "ax" for "ask" is actually an ancient practice? Upon reading Chaucer, you will find the use of "ax" for "ask" in his stories. So it didn't all ( HA HA) start with blacks mispronouncing our wonderful English language--we "superior" white folk have been doing that for several thousand years. African-Americans who were sold into slavery in the US picked up all sorts of habits from us. Now what all of us need to do is to stop blaming others and start taking responsibility for ourselves.

I am probably wasting my time responding to this question but nonetheless I shall. You're a yellow bellied racist stereotyping a group of people while pretending not to command the English language. Why don't you just admit you have a problem accepting people who are not of the same skin color as you.

I sincerely pity you

Because for some very strange reason, you are attempting to identify with a stereotype (WRONGLY assuming all black people have no grammatical skills) you think is "cool". Grow up, form your own identity, and focus on your English homework, because your spelling and grammar leave much to be desired.

HI Zitka,
Perhaps you are allowing a filter such as prejudice to color your thinking and your speaking.
