It sounds like the bite is getting infected, so you may need antibiotics. If a cat bites you and it creates a puncture, the tooth "injects" bacteria from the cat's mouth deep into your skin, and the skin closes up around it.
It's highly recommended that you seek professional medical treatment for any cat bite. The bite can turn into a nasty, infected mess in less than 12 hours. Treatment includes an IV antibiotic and oral antibiotics. The most commonly used oral antibiotic is Augmentin, which is an amoxocillin and clavulanate mixture. Most cat bites contain Pasterella multocida bacteria, with some Staph thrown in, and these drugs best treat those bacteria.
I think you should see a doctor. These links will give you more information. I hope this helps.

Sounds like you may have gotten some infection in there if the skin was broken. Did your new kitten get his shots yet? If the bite mark is getting worse over these 5 days instead of healing, sweetie you need to go to the doctor. Bites can cause a whole slue of germs and bacteria to enter the body and sounds to me that, that's just whats happening. You may need a topical antibiotic or an oral one to make the swelling go down and to take the infection out of there. You may also try Neosporn in the mean time which is an antibacterial oniment.

I'm with answer #1, Get your butt to the doctor, ASAP. Cat saliva is full of bacteria and will quickly cause infection. Find your way to a doctor right now! I hope you've at least washed it, but this is the kind of thing that could land you in the hospital... Bad stuff here should have thought about a way to handle this a damn sight sooner than 5 days later!

"Cat Scratch Fever", ever heard of that? It comes after only a cat's scratch and here you have a bite. You will have to start taking antibiotics - DOXYCYCLINE would be the best as it has a wide spectrum of activity and would take care of whatever germs the cat passed on with its saliva onto your foot during the bite. Confirm whether you are protected from tetanus (you are given one injection that protects you from tetanus for 5 years). If you are unsure or the protection period has lapsed, you will require a booster dose of tetatus toxoid. Take some pain killers of your choice (after meals) and take rest with your foot raised by placing a pillow under your afftected foot. Leave the wound open.
If your condition worsens, rush to ED.

soap and water, peroxide, neosporin and a band aid. Keep it clean and protected and you should be fine. I've been getting bit by cats for 22 years now and I've have never seen a doctor or been to the emergency room. The swelling is because of whatever was on their teeth is now in your arm.

You got cat scratch fever. Just clean and use an antibiotic on the wound. Very unlikely that it could be rabies since the cat acts normal otherwise.

Well, after five days with no improvement, ya, I would have it looked at. There is such a thing called cat scratch fever and it causes swelling. If that is the case, you will need antibiotics. Good luck.

Sounds like the wound has become infected and you might need antibiotics to get rid of the infection. Best to see a Doctor.

No, yours is not a stupid question. You should see a doctor as soon as possible. Some nasty infections can set up from a cat bite.
Take care and be well,
