I went to a Jiffy Lube, and they apparently cross-threaded the oil pan. The dealer is telling me replacement will be $960.00.....this seems to high to me. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks-

Bummer! Unfortunately, it's probably in the ballpark. VW parts are known to be expensive (personal experience here). Depending on how long you've had the car it may have been one of those things covered under warranty, but since you went to Jiffy Lube and not to a certified Volkswagen mechanic they will not cover any damages.
