Why Is White Pride Wrong?

Why is white pride wrong? blacks show pride for their race, and can be vulgar about it and violent. why cant whites just be pride of their race, without being racist? wat makes it racist?

Everyone should be proud of who they are. White or black doesn't make a difference. You shouldn't say only blacks get vulgar and violent. Ever hear of a little white pride group called the skinheads? Yeah look it up and see what kinds of things they did to people just for being different.

In my opinion, all pride is wrong. But for people who think it isn't , you raise a valid point. You have misunderstood, though. You see, this "Pride", that "minorities" or oppressed people say they feel is more of a vindication, than actual pride. It's sort of like, they're saying "there's nothing wrong with what I am", because everybody else seems to think there is. Since white people are not oppressed and apparently have no need to validate themselves, any "pride" they feel would have to mean real pride i.e arrogance and superiority, which is not what the other people meant.
Think about it, you never hear straight people saying "I'm proud to be straight", cos ppl don't see anything wrong with it, same goes for thin people, beautiful people, rich people, etc But you see stuff like gay "pride", and big and "beautiful", poor but "honest" etc, cos "pride" here is vindication, not arrogance.

There is nothing wrong with white pride because everyone should be proud of who there are. They need to represent themselves.

However, if you are going to be representing your people do it in a way where you are not putting every other race down. Making racists remarks, it is just wrong to be that way...

I think it's because "white" is not really a race. There are Scots, Irish, Germans, Ukranians, etc

No one seems to have a problem with Scottish Pride, or German Pride. But what is the White Culture? It's really nothing because a person isn't of white heritage...they are of British Heritage, etc.

So are Blacks allowed to have Black Pride? Yes because they don't know their heritage, and frankly they are not African anymore...so African-American just means that they are Americans with an African Heritage (but they don't know if they are from the Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Kenya, etc)

When I hear "White Pride" I think of oppression of others. That is my first thot. When I think of "German Pride" I think of Engineering and Technical prowess. Scottish I think of Kilts and music and dancing. Brits, I think of acting and comedy. Whites, I think of lynchings

When I think of Blacks, I think of oppressed people...hmmm. Maybe they need to say they are from Ghana...that's better :-) I think positive things now

Good question. I think part of it stems from the recent african american movements of the 60's and the issue of slavery since American History. So there's a still resonating effect of being oppressed and such where as 'white' people are not minorities.

And secondly, I dont think white is a race. When we think black, we think african american and even thought africa is not a country, thats where black people place their roots. A white person would trace to their italian, german, Irish..or whatever European country they came from and they aren't neccesarily seen as racist. White just sounds like you're dividing people by color rather than by where they were from.

I agree, black people for some reason blame white people today for something unfortunate that happened centuries ago. We had nothing to do w/slavery but we will never live it down, and society feels like we owe them something, if all races are equal why do we have to kiss there asses? We white people can't show pride because the blacks would take it as being racist and we can't give them something else to whine about.

I think EVERYONE should be proud of their culture. When you start spouting out about how one race is superior to another, and put other races down, then it becomes a racist thing to say. When you talk about hurting people just because of the color of their skin, then it becomes a racist thing to say. I'm black and I'm proud. And I am not vulgar nor violent about it. I am just ME. Wonderful little me!

it's not techincally wrong, people just associate it with the KKK because the white people have been superior for a long time and the african race is not looked down on when they make fun of white people. I, myself, am mixed so even if i was to boast about my african heritage i think its wrong ot make fun of white people just the same way i think it's wrong to make fun of black people. this world now is so ignorant and superficial that all you can do is just be quiet cause anything anyone says can be used against them.

It is one thing to have pride and to teach /promote pride in anything,but to be superficial and ignorant of the fact that we as a world can be proud with out promoting HATE (as if there was not enough of that ) is also a sign of "STUPIDITY"...what pride can can come of it for anyone of us.
One can have such pride and procreate or evolve only to have white pride friends family or mates ,be smart,caring and worthy,but inevitable enough it tends to resort to or result in HATE for others....others unknown to the proud parties...what pride is there in promoting such behavior?
