I have too much luggage to take on the plan from LAX to Washington DC. I need to have my winter clothes in Washington DC by Mid-to-late october though (preferably earlier, but i'm flexible). I'm not sure what service I should - or even CAN - use for this type of thing. It's not important to me if it takes 10 days or 25 days for it to get there. The most important things are that a) it does in fact get there safely and b) it is relatively cost effective.

I would appreciate any advice greatly. If you know of a specific website, i'd really appreciate the URL and any other info. Thanks so much. I will be checking responses nearly every 5 minutes.

Thanks again!

Send it Media Mail in the Post office. It's cheapest, and they still deliver it just like they do anything else.

I would suggest UPS or FedEx. You can put everything in a big box and send it to whereever you will be staying, standard delivery. The websites will be able to locate a drop off location near you and you can call for an estimate on pricing depending on the weight of the box.

I would go UPS Ground. They charge by weight/dimensions/speed and you can track your packages.
