I recommend a product called "Orange power" or similar cleaning product containing orange oil and derived from orange skins. Spray on, leave a few seconds, wipe off.

I'd try diluted bleach (directions are on the bottle) as a first step to kill the mold and mildew. It may take several treatments depending on how long the gunk has been there. Be sure to wear rubber gloves. A good scrub brush rather than a sponge may help as well.

tilex spray on mildew root remover... it comes in a blue bottle. It may take a few applications, and you will have to scrub a little, but it kills it, and keeps it from coming back

I use lysol scrubbing bubbles in the can. Not a miracle, but it does save a little elbow.
