whether it is a home damage claim or car accident claim, they will first send an adjuster to look at the damage and determine how much they are willing to pay to fix or replace the same. Also depends on your coverage.

Ususally they send a claims adjuster to check out the damage. They then decide if the damaged property id repairible or a total loss. Then if there are any claim coverage issues they will investigate that, as well.

Dont they do a investigation on the client as well?
like to see if there is a pattern of claims in the past, lost a job maybe etc etc.

Is it a theft, is it an auto accident, is it a burgulary?
They'll want to know facts, prices, etc. and have you substantiate it all with receipts.
