CVS is a version control system, an important component of Source Configuration Management (SCM).

Using it, you can record the history of sources files, and documents.

CVS is a reliable open source tool that has been around for quite a while, and is used to manage a large majority of open source development projects.

More information about CVS (including manuals and developer forums) can be found at http://www.cvshome.org/.

CVS Corporation, NYSE: CVS is a pharmacy and convenience store chain in the United States. CVS is also the largest pharmacy chain in the United States, based on store count.

CVS operates stores under the name of CVS/pharmacy, though they are often simply called CVS. Based in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, it was founded in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1963. CVS's chief competitor, Walgreens, has fewer stores, but generates higher sales than CVS.

I don't know exactly what it stands for but I know what it does. You can take an Excel type or Database file and save at CVS, Also called Comma Delimited. It converts you file to a notepad type look and seperates all your cell entries by a comma. Alot of mailing houses use this format for importing addresses to the postal software. It is sometimes used to tranfer database information from one software to another as well.
