If the judge was speaking as a private citizen, unrelated to a current case, then yes.
But judges (and prosecutors) are immune from defamation suits when speaking in their official capacity on the bench.

I have a friend to whom that happened, and he went to the committee that oversees judges and complained.
The judge is NOT a judge anymore (he did this to many people!) and my friend is in process of suing the former judge in a civil lawsuit.
You first got to get him out of his 'ninja suit'. Sitting judges are pretty immune to the legal system.

I feel for you. You better have a lot of cash. Then find a lawyer that is not in that county. Lawyers do not like to go against the judge that they go in front of. Experience.
Vent your anger but save your cash.
Good luck..

Does not sound like a judge, but you can report them to the
Commission of Judical Conduct & they will investigate.

A Judge or Prosecutor can not be sued.
They can lose in the next election.

I believe you can. You should get in contact with a lawyer ( one who preferably DOES NOT work in the same courthouse or town).
