I hate it I LOATH it I DISPISE IT! My mom makes me take lessons because every one says what a good guitar player I am, I don't CARE how good I am I don't CARE for the guitar I HATE IT!!! I LOATH IT!! How can I get my mom to understand my loathing for the guitar? I love her so much and I don't want to hurt her.

Seeing how badly you hate the damn thing, I think it would be best if you told your mum the truth. The longer you do something you hate doing, the worst you'll get inside until eventually your attitude changes and ultimately you start hating the people around you. Or you could sell the guitar and say it was stolen. : )

Approach her this way. "Mom, I think I would prefer to play the harp or the piano or the clarinet or the trumpet or the trombone or the violet rather than the guitar."
Are you really good at it? Wish I could play the guitar. I am a total uncoordinated clutz.

Can you switch to a different musical instrument that you prefer? I tried to learn guitar, but it hurt my fingers. I went back to piano and was better for it. Just be sure to be grateful when you discuss it with your mom.

I think you should tell her how much you dislike it. You will never put forth your best effort for something you don't love, so they don't even know your true potential. She is wasting her money and your time.....compromise with her and find something else you like better that she approves of.
