Hi,

I have a 1983 camaro with the stock 2.8L V6 Engine, I was just wondering what would have to be replaced or upgraded to accomodate the new engine.

( i was planning on a chevy 350)

you do not need to change any driveline or rearend or any springs no parts in the front at all the driveline on a v6 is the same as a v8 the only thing you will need to change is the motor mounts and exhaust manifolds this is a real easy swap to do it is not that expensive everything will work if he is a 30 year auto tech he hasnt had much experience or training he should know these are the same remind me not to have him work on my cars but this is american car not a nissan also the brakes one the 83 are the same

WOW are you in for a surprise there is nothing strong enough on the old 2.8 drive line to even reuse including the rear axle. Just go out and find a Z-28 and save money trying to make A Z-28 out of a V-6 besides above the brakes on the 2.8 are disk drum not, disk disk like the Z-28 but will be on the complete new rear axle you will have to have Sway Bars Ball Joints control armes all different. Good Luck find a wrecked Z-28 you will then have a chance of pulling this off
