I've already graduated from school, but I spent time at home raising my son. I am currently employed, but I only make enough to cover my personal bills. Any words of advice?

I can't apply for student loans after the fact. I don't want to defer them any more than they already have been. Applying for more loans just uses Peter to pay Paul. I only need answers from people who know something about post-graduate help.

You may want to contact the Federal Student Aid site and do a search on "forbearance":

http://studentaid.ed.gov/PORTALSWebApp/students/english/index.jsp

This will get you pointed in the right direction and possibly get your repayment schedule put on hold.

Hope this helps!

Decrease 'personal' bills.

If no forbearance forthwith you are racking up interest charges...
and will not see any tax return money or be eligible for any loan until debt paid...

Pay back more than what you need to so the interest on principle reduced(loan retired more quickly).

That is way grants are better...
