When I had my 1st daugther, my husband and Mom were in the room with like 2 nurses and the doctor. I had about 12 people outside in the waiting room though. (and that was fine with me as long as they WEREN'T in the room) With my 2nd daughter, my husband was again with me and my husbands sister, who is a nurse and then 2 nurses and a doctor. My mom would've been there, but she was watching our other daughter. You need to be comfortable with who you have in the room and at some hospitals I know there is a limit. I was VERY nervous going into my 1st delivery. I didn't want the med students there (and they were asked to leave) and I was just embaressed. But, I'll tell you....by the time I had her, I didn't care WHO was in the room and WHAT they saw. I learned humility while having a baby and it was WONDERFUL! GOOD LUCK!!

During the whole labor and delivery thing people came in and out of the room. But when I started pushing I asked everyone to leave but my mother in law and my husband. My mom wasnt able to make it other wise I would have had my mother in there as well. But thats all it was and the doctors ofcourse. If you are asking because you arent sure who you want in there with you all I got to say is dont let anyone stay if you arent comfortable with them in there. Have only people you want in there otherwise someone may get there feelings hurt or you may be uncomfortable.

When my third son was born?
To begin with, I drove myself to the hospital, collected my sister on the way, and took her along for the ride, and some company to moan, groan, and scream at - but mainly, to drive the car back home.
In my country - Trinidad&Tobago - they do not allow ANYONE except nurses, and/or a doctor, in the delivery ward at our General Hospitals.I have three sons, and have never had a delivery attended by a doctor, husband, friend, or family, only nurses. So who was with me for the third?
God - (as always);
Me;
myself;
and I -
and of course baby.
A nurse happened by while he was coming, threw a fit, and started shouting for other nurses, after one of them had informed me not two minutes before, that I was not ready yet, and still had aways to go. I thank God for blessing me with a safe, healthy delivery, when no one was around to help at the start of it all.

My husband and a whole medical team. I also had a c-section. My mom and Mil wanted nothing to do with being there. I would love to see ANYBODY's baby born. I love it and love the Baby Story on TLC. It is the best thing in the world having a baby!

The hospital would allow only two family members in the room. I had planned that it would be my husband and my mom. But during the pushing, my mother became faint and had to leave the room (she had been with me during the laboring, but this part became too much for her). So I let my mother-in-law come in and she stayed in the room during the birth.

Well for my 1st child I was induced because I was 10 days late. All of my family could be in the room until I started active labor......once I was in active labor, only 3 people could be in there and they could switch if they wanted. I had my husband, mother and mother-in-law...even though I can't stand her, I allowed her to be there for the birth of her 1st grandchild....i'm not a mean person.......for my 2nd child, I had a different doctor and a different hospital. My whole family could be there and I remember that my father and my sister-in-law were in the room when i was in active labor.....I was in so much pain and I yelled at them and told them to stop staring at me! and kicked them out...only my mom, husband and mother-in-law were present when i gave birth and then everyone came in right when she was delivered which i thought was cool........i really didn't want anyone in there when i was delivering my placenta by i remember my sister-in-law in there...and i had 1 nurse and the doctor who delivered my baby in there of course.

With my first.
Doctor, two nurses, husband, mother, father, best friend. It got a little crowded.
After the first. Doctor, husband, nurses that's it.
I hate people telling me what to do...push.... push....push....breath.... breath...
Went much better with a smaller audience. Also, I told the Doctor before labour to limit the noise in the room. No I am not a scientologist. I just really hate being told what to do, if you listen to your body you get the right clues.

I swear there was 20 people in the room. I think the hospital was giving tours that day.
But my mom and my ex-husband were there.
My ex was useless and annoying.
My mom just kept reminding me that I'm going to get to see my baby soon and really kept me motivated and not worried.

My mom and husband the first time.
My new husband the second time!
I don't like everybody in my room and only 2 are allowed.

After having my mom in the room, along with my husband the first time I gave birth, I opted for just my husband the second go-around. (Along with my ob/gyn and a couple of nurses).
