Check the label. I generally do it inside-out, but then NEVER machine dry them. The heat will crack and ruin a jersey faster than wearing it outside to play football would.

To wash an NFL authentic jersey, the best and most cost-effective way to do it is to turn the jersey inside out and wash it on delicate. Turning the jersey inside out stops the colours from fading or any other problems.

I don't think that you are supposed to, but I always wash mine in the machine. Just set it for the delicate or gentle cycle on cold.
