I don't know. I never heard anyone use that expression. By and large, I think people who live away from cities tend to be quite a bit less selfish and morally corrupt than their city cousins are. Yes, I know that's a stereotype, but I've found it to be true. I grew up in a small town of 1200 people, and I think being "country" is a big advantage.

The younger generations have been very spoiled by their parents in the U.S. and status, and designer names, and how your protrayed is important.
If your not in the latest fashion or have the latest style, your considered white trash, "country" or a low life.
It's sad that we're creating such stuck up arrogant people that think a low life like Paris Hilton is cool.
Just be yourself and dont' get caught up into it.

Did you see that movie called “Deliverance” where a group of country bumpkins got lost at Macy’s and was told by the girl at the Clinique counter to squeal like a pig?

I live in the city. I grew up in the country. I get laughed at by some of my friends like if sometimes I am talking especailly country that day. I don't let it bother me. I am me, I am always real. My friends love me and I personally just think that they are fascinated by me.

if you notice, most country people are true to themselves and their beliefs. Unlike fake ss california people who have to fit in to try to be cool. country folks go against the grain wich makes them cool in their own right, but then someone comes up with an idea like, "Punk Rock" wich is suppossed to be anti social, "i.e" like country folks, then it's all of a sudden cool. Plus, since most country folks, red necks, and white trash don't take **** off of any one and are patriotic. then the are called racist. you will notice that most white peoplke in america are so terrified of the minorities, that they do all they can to get away from some one associated with it. hence, a country guy beats down some black guy for trying to steal his car, he is automatically labled a racist. what do rappers rap about? lowriders, 40's or crystaal, and bitchs. redneck, is pick-ups, whiskey or beer, and their women. basically the same. black people call their food sould food, well geuss what you ignorant *** white people? country food is the same thing but they don't have to spice up the name to be cool. white people will automatically dislike collard greens, but when they go to a soul food rest, they magically like it like it some how changed. you people are so stupid.

That was wored wrongly then. Country isn't bad - but evidently some people think that if you are 'country" - then, a person's stupid, ignorant, even trashy! That's just NOT the case.

I believe this is all in how a person is raised & what types of beliefs are instilled in them by their parents. If they are taught that everyone is the same, regardless of where they are from or how they speak, or the color of their skin, then they will be a much different person then if they are taught that their "kind" is the "best kind"....

Hicks represent corn-fed, inbred, dumb, low-IQ, bible totin, hetero-world-lovin, squirrel-eatin, anti-choice, trailer-livin, Nascar watchin, wrestling lovin, beer-bellied, chain smokin, wife beatin, cat kickin, single-shot rifle carryin, pickup drivin, sh!t stained undies, country music kind of people. I'm sure not everyone is like that, but enough of them gave the stereotype its start.

The lack of social graces, inherent prejudices that are thought to be stereotypical of country people... that is why, but some of us accept people for who they are and not who they seem to be.
