Your State Dept. of Motor Vehicles or Public Safety can help acquire a new one. Bring with you positive identification and the vehicle identification number (VIN). The VIN number is generally on your insurance as well as on the vehicle.

I rec. all the above answers, and, just wondering, did you ever put them into a 'safe place' or a Safe Deposit Box? Have you checked with your bank?
As the bonded Secretary of a Non-proffit, we had to find some keys and our charter, and one of the old members who had been on the initial Board mentioned a safe deposit box! Everyone can forget things! Though we had to pay to drill it, it was cheaper than re-keying all the older locks on storage room doors!

Check with your Department of Motor Vehicles. You certainly won't be the first to have this problem.

go to your local dept. of motor vehicle and request it. as long as the title has your name on it and no liens it shouldn't be a problem.
