Chicago. In terms of weather, there are a lot of great places. In terms of severe weather, both coasts seem to have plenty of disasters. NY - 9/11, florida & SE USA: hurricanes. West coast: Hurricanes & EARTHQUAKES. Central USA: a tornado or 2 per year. Chicago - if you live near the lake, there are no tornadoes either. We do have traffic, but safety and weather are 2 factors that Chicago is tops. I also liked Austin, TX a lot. Milwaukee is also nice and safe.

New York/New Jersey is pretty good in term of no major natural disasters to worry about. But security . . . . and good luck affording a house too!

well personally i think new jersey,pennsylvania and georgia are best. i dont care about the weather. and maybe california or utah.
